Earlier this week, KAWS : ALONG THE WAY opened at the Hong Kong Contemporary Art (HOCA) Foundation, a survey looking back at one decade of the American artist’s work. Coming up on March 30th, Thinkspace Gallery will be hosting a group show entitled Seeing Red. Like his previous projects from the Holiday series in Korea (covered) & Taiwan (covered), the reveal of KAWS’ large scale intervention in Hong Kong (covered) will include some associated merchandise. Featuring most prominently will be plush versions of the American artist’s signature Companion figure in the usual three colorways (brown, grey, and black). Stopping by the Great Park Neighborhoods planned development in Irvine, California recently, Sage Vaughn left an installation from his “Bouquet” series for residents to enjoy on the Art Walk of Cadence Park. Continuing a project that has toured Asia starting last year in Korea (covered) which moved on to Taiwan (covered) earlier this year, KAWS will unveiling another large scale inflatable version of his Companion figure in Hong Kong on March 22nd. A couple weeks ago, we shared a mural by Shepard Fairey (interviewed) that he recently completed for this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii.
