Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang, who recently orchestrated the New Year’s fireworks for Taipei, recently turned his attention to a different part of the world. His exhibition Resplandor y Soledad or Splendor and Solitude is currently showing at the Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo in Mexico City (runs through March 20th), his first solo in Latin America. It features a representation of Lake Texcoco made famous in the legend of the founding of the city of Tenochititian surrounded by 14 large scale gunpowder drawings.
