This Saturday (May 8th, 6-9pm), Williamburg’s Urban Art Projects will host a special event to celebrate the release of Swoon’s first monograph of her work, published by Abrams. She will be signing copies of the self-titled book, which includes essays, images and thoughts, and an introduction by Jeffrey Deitch.
Along with the book signing, Swoon is working with Urban Art Projects and a team of engineers and architects to produce a domed sculpture to be exhibited at Urban Art Projects’ inaugural Williamsburg Waterfront Sculpture Exhibition in East River State Park during the month of May. The sculpture is intended to raise awareness of the housing crisis in Haiti.
If all that wasn’t enough to get you out, there will be free beer and music.
