Tomorrow night in Seattle, two artists we have our eyes on, Femke Hiemstra and Ryan Heshka will be opening a show together at the Roq La Rue Gallery. Femke hails from the Netherlands and will be bringing a new body of work entitled “The Bone Shaped Bone” featuring her imaginative paintings, often on found objects like the book seen above. Ryan Heshka is an artist from Vancouver whose work we were recently introduced to at the Blabworld show. His new paintings are titled “Super Things” and are heavily influenced by “Golden Era sci fi pulp” and are filled with otherworldly environments where humans interact with what look to be aliens, monsters, and other creatures.
