Last Saturday night, the masks came off for Sylvia Ji’s (interviewed) and her new body of work, Shapeshifter, at the Corey Helford Gallery. Featuring Ji’s unique portraiture minus the “Day of the Dead” facial markings, this collection of paintings were revealing in more ways than one and was built around Native American imagery.
