Basel Week Miami ’11: Ryan McGinley, Dash Snow, and Dan Colen – “The Triology Exhibiton” @ The Ring Art Center

As members of a special group of artists from NY, Ryan McGinley, Dash Snow, and Dan Colen will be forever linked – all have achieved their success in their own right, some more infamously than others. Streets: Dash Snow Tribute (New York)

It looks like the Barry McGee and Amaze mural on Houston & Bowery has been painted over with a giant fire extinguisher Sace Irak tag. If you want to check out this tribute to Dash Snow, you had better hurry as it sounds as though it will only be up for a day until a new winter mural goes up. Dash Snow Memorial @ East River Amphitheater

A second public memorial for Dash Snow will be held tomorrow, October 1 at the East River Amphitheater on the East River from 3:30pm – 7:00pm.  All are welcome to attend.  Come celebrate the life of one of NYC’s most beloved artists.

As reported, Deitch Projects (Grand St.) opened it’s gallery doors for a special tribute in memory of the passing of Dash Snow earlier this month. Memorial: Dash Snow Memorial @ Deitch Projects (NY)

Photo via Peres Projects A open memorial exhibition for Dash Snow will be held in his community in New York City.  It could open as early as July 21 at Deitch Projects.  Dash’s community of friends are invited to “participate in an exhibition that would include photographs or video of Dash, works of art made for Dash or in memory of him, and a small group of works by Dash in various media.” More information from Peres Projects after the jump.

Dash Snow R.I.P.

Rumors have been circulating all morning about the untimely passing of NYC artist and Downtown scenester Dash Snow. Unfortunately, the New York Times online has just posted a blurb with confirmation from Snow’s grandmother that he died last night of a drug overdose. He was 27 years old.
