Upcoming: Shepard Fairey @ Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art

Coming up in May, Shepard Fairey (featured) will be opening a show in Charleston, South Carolina where he grew up along with the work of Jasper Johns at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art. The exhibition will feature new work by Fairey and a survey of prints made between 1982 and 2012 by Johns, highlighting both their technique of recycling graphic elements in separate galleries. Releases: Jeff Soto – “Seeker Friends Elements: Air” Print

For those who enjoyed the Seeker Friends prints from Jeff Soto (interviewed), he will be revisiting the series with a new set of Elements. Currently for sale as a timed release from the Riverside-based artist is Air (6″ x 6″), available at Prints on Wood. POW WOW ’14 & 1xRUN Prints & Show

The annual POW! WOW! art retreat in Hawaii starts this weekend and 1xRUN will be on site to work on a special show at Loft in Space / Fresh Cafe set to open on February 14th. They have also partnered with Pangea Seed, a local non profit, to exhibit prints from their archives and their new Sametan figure customized by over 30 artists. Previews: Tristram Lansdowne, Erin Murray, and Greg Eason @ Breeze Block Gallery

Tonight (February 6th), the Breeze Block Gallery in Portland will be presenting new work from Canadian artist Tristram Lansdowne (interviewed), along with Erin Murray in a two-person show. Streets: Invader (Hong Kong) – Part II

After sharing some shots of the invasion of Hong Kong by tilemaster Invader last month, here are now some more documentation of his work in the streets for you to peruse. The French legend has now glued a total of 48 new pieces of his signature 8-bit imagery up in multiple locations, some in the most visible and busy spots in the Chinese metropolis.
