Teaser: Hush – “Sirens” @ Metro Gallery

As we mentioned in a post in March highlighting a mural from Hush (interviewed) in Melbourne, the UK-based artist has been prepping for a solo at the Metro Gallery. With the opening reception set for May 30th, Sirens will bring fans down under his special blend of East meets West imagery fused with elements of urban culture. Look for a wide array of work including 13 large pieces and 24 smaller more experimental works as well as some limited editions. Another preview image after the jump…

Preview: Thinkspace Curated “Synergy” @ Spoke Art

AM Films: Anthony Lister – Los Angeles

Openings: Urban Legends @ L.A. Mart Design Center

Last weekend at the L.A. Mart Design Center, the Urban Legends auction and exhibition opened their doors to the public. With a series of largescale pieces, murals, photographs, and installations, artists around the world like Chor Boogie, Kofie, Mear One, Shark Toof, Cern, Estria, Martha Cooper, Sand One, Herakut, SANER, Estevan Oriol, Eriberto Oriol, Chaz Bojorquez, RETNA, Andrew Hem, and more were invited to put their work on display. Streets: ROA, Hyuro, Mentalgassi, Moneyless – Katowice Street Art Festival (Poland)

As the work continues to go up in Katowice, Poland for a local street art festival, more photos are continuing to hit the interwebs. Besides photos from Olek, Ludo, Mark Jenkins, and Escif, other muralists have hit the streets with their distinctive work including ROA, Hyuro, Mentalgassi, Moneyless.

Releases: Josh Keyes x Tiny Showcase – “The Collector” Print

It looks like Tiny Showcase has another quality release on their hands. The Collector from Josh Keyes (interviewed) will be available for purchase from now until May 8th with some of the proceeds to benefit International Rhino Foundation. Teaser: 2012 White Columns Benefit Exhibition + Auction

Currently on auction at White Columns are works from over 80 artists to benefit the not-for-profit gallery near the border of West Village and the Meat Packing District in New York. Since 1970, hundreds of artists have benefited from their early exposure and support so head over to view the works on display, which are now available for bidding in a silent auction. Openings: Pedro Matos – “Heritage” @ Ivory & Black

Last weekend, the Ivory & Black showspace in London hosted the opening for Pedro Matos’ new body of work entitled Heritage. With a series of large paintings (including tondos) and a cluster of smaller pieces, the focus of the Portuguese artist was on his personal and cultural heritage.
