The 2013 British Ceramics Biennial which opened in Stoke-on-Trent on 28 September, celebrates the best in contemporary ceramics through a six-week programme of exhibitions, installations and events. One of the installations, Take Stock by Lawrence Epps, has been created from 12,000 ceramic office workers, which visitors to the biennial will be invited to take away with them. Releases: Nick Walker x Royal Doulton

Nick Walker (interviewed) recently teamed up with English tableware and collectables producer Royal Doulton to produce a series of limited edition plates & mugs. The plates measure at 10.75”, and features iconic images from the street artist entitled New York, Love Vandal, Vandal Airways, as well as a collage. Each one will come with a certificate of authenticity. The plates & mugs will be available next week at Royal Doulton retailers worldwide. Discuss Nick Walker here.

Tomorrow night (October 5th), the Thinkspace Gallery will be hosting new works from Seth Armstrong in their project room. The concept behind this body of work is an interesting one – each of the smaller works below is a blowup of the smaller scenes seen in the big painting above. Lovin’ Thy Neighbor highlights the cinematic and theatrical feel to Armstrong’s paintings as what is going on behind the windows of the high rise building is fleshed out and expanded upon in the accompanying works. Studio Visits: Tomokazu Matsuyama – “The Standard Rendez-vous” @ Zidoun & Bossuyt

AM recently stopped by the new studio space of Tomokazu “Matsu” Matsuyama (interviewed). The Brooklyn-based artist was busy getting ready for his solo exhibition at Luxembourg’s Zidoun & Bossuyt that opened yesterday. It was great to see Matsu focusing more on larger paintings and also the return of his abstract “sundance” style that we’ve come to love. The exhibition runs from October 3rd until November 9th, so stop by if you’re in the area. Discuss Matsu here.

Our friends over at Toy Qube have been quietly working on a project that will bring to life a painting by Josh Keyes (interviewed). We finally got the go ahead to share some detailed images with you. Joining an impressive lineup of artists to have collaborated with TheSK8room on limited edition skateboard decks, Ai Weiwei has released three different versions recently. Featuring graphics and quotes form the Chinese contemporary artist, the three designs are limited to a run of 150 each and retail for € 300,00. Seen displayed in the company’s Brussels showroom above, the numbered skateboards (with printed signature) will be sold to partially support a good cause with 20% of all sales going towards Skateistan.
