Basel Week Miami ’12: PULSE – Highlights

Another strong fair we visited while we were enjoying Basel Week Miami was PULSE. Featuring many galleries and artists that we were familiar with, it was a nice stroll catching up with them as well as learning about some new artists. Here is an overview of what we saw, including these sculptures from Mark Mulroney (seen above), before we take you on some closer in-depth looks at some of the booths. Discuss Basel Week Miami here.

Preview: Ray Caesar @ KochxBos Gallery

The last collection of works from Ray Caesar (interviewed) we saw up close and personal was at a special showing in Beverly Hills last December at Stephen Webster. Andrew Hem – “Dreams Towards Reality” Book Signing @ Nucleus Gallery

At this weekend’s Giant Robot Post It 8 show (previewed), those with a good eye and a bit of detective work would have noticed some of Andrew Hem’s (interviewed) work in a very unfamiliar style. We will show you more of this later but for now, here is a look back to Andrew’s book signing (previewed) at the end of October where there was a generous display of his more familiar original work. On this night, Andrew also took his time to sign and draw for […]

Basel Week Miami ’12: The Miami Project – Highlights

AM found time to visit another fair in Midtown Miami, the inaugural Miami Project earlier this week. Unlike most new fairs, we were impressed by their solid lineup of respected galleries and great facilities. This is perhaps this is due to the experience of the fair’s organizers, artMRKT Productions, who have already held fairs Houston, San Francisco, and the Hamptons. Check out the selection of works below and the a piece from Mel Bochner above… Discuss Basel Week Miami here.

Basel Week Miami ’12: Amy Sol – “Someday Garden” @ SCOPE / Thinkspace

Basel Week Miami ’12: Art Asia – Highlights

An art fair we always check out while we are in town for Basel Week Miami is the sister fair of SCOPE – Art Asia. While there perusing gems from the Far East, we are sure to come upon new names to follow as well as catch up with more familiar artists. This year, the sculptures of Qin Weihong (above) caught our eye as well as much of the other talent on display. Take a look at all the photos below… Discuss Basel Week Miami here.
