Openings: Sam Gibbons – “Directed By Kilroy” @ Jonathan LeVine

Opening recently alongside Stephan Doitschinoff at Jonathan LeVine Gallery was Baltimore-based artist Sam Gibbons. In his first solo exhibition with the gallery, the artist unveiled his latest show Directed by Kilroy, a series of paintings on custom cut wood panels shaped in the silhouette of his subjects. Utilizing bold colors along with exaggerated & elastic forms, he explores the themes of morality and carnal desire. Videos / Preview: Esao Andrews – “Nowhere” @ Thinkspace

As we previously mentioned, Esao Andrews will be opening a show this Saturday night, January 7th, at the Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City. Nowhere will include imagery familiar to his fans like creepy houses, distorted balloons, and  ghostly ships all painted with his surreal touch and moody palette. Happy New Years from Laurie Lipton!

Well, another year has passed. We hope you have enjoyed the art-filled 12 months as much as we have here at AM. We wish for you a 2012 that will bring more shows for you to attend, more art related info to digest, and more art added to your collections.
