Releases: Kozyndan – “Captives: Orcas and Pandas” Print

Later today, Kozyndan will be releasing a new print from their webstore entitled Captives: Orcas and Pandas. The new image is the third in their Animal OddCouples series of works where they pair two animals that struggle due to human activity around the world. They may be different species, but their struggle for survival is that same against mankind’s aggression and carelessness. The edition size will be 150 and the prints come signed and numbered with a portion of the proceeds going to the Orca Research Trust. […]

Upcoming: Stella Im Hultberg – “Stranger” @ Spoke Art

On October 1st, Stella Im Hultberg (interviewed) will be opening her first solo show in four years at Spoke Art in San Francisco. Entitled Stranger, the new selection of paintings continues the current uplifting direction of her work and promises to feature her female subjects surrounding by a lot of flowers. Haroshi For HUF (Los Angeles)

A couple weeks back, we finally had time to stop by HUF on Fairfax in Los Angeles to check out Haroshi’s larger than life middle finger. The irreverent sculpt is something the Japanese artist know for his pieces created from compressed used skateboards, but this time also there are limited edition vinyl versions of the middle finger for sale as well. Upcoming: Joram Roukes – “American Ornithology” @ Thinkspace Gallery

After a successful showing at Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles last year (covered), Joram Roukes will be returning for another solo on October 10th. Entitled American Ornithology, the new body of work from the Dutch artist will no doubt highlight his surrealist artistic vision, oftentimes featuring striking scenes played out by his hybrid characters. Openings: Dan Quintana – “Diffused” @ Hashimoto Contemporary

Over the weekend, Hashimoto Contemporary in San Francisco hosted the opening of Dan Quintana’s lastest solo show. Entitled Diffused, the exhibition featured a dozen new oil paintings and several charcoal drawings on paper from the Los-Angeles based artist centered mainly around his ghostly portraiture, beautiful female characters surrounded by an aura of abstract elements.
