We can’t seem to get enough of Tara McPherson and Molly Crabapple since drawing along side them at Baby Tattooville in the Riverside Art Museum (covered). So, AM decided to stop by and get in a little schooling with a special edition of NYC’s Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School featuring none other than our friend Tara McPherson. For this special session a “life drawing” model was transformed into a beautiful & seductive “Lonely Heart” siren. Video: Dennis Hopper on Art

In this short from 2007, Dennis Hopper shares his passion for art collecting and gives a guided tour of his personal collection.   Hopper, who befriended many of contemporary art’s greats starting in the 1950’s, has an impressive collection of both paintings and anecdotes featuring such luminaries as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Basquiat, and Kenny Scharf.  Enjoy!

Openings: Greg Gossel – “Broken” @ Soo Visual Arts Center

Greg Gossel (interviewed) recently opened his latest solo show, “Broken” at the Soo Visual Arts Center (previewed). Featuring over twenty new works as well as an installation, “Broken” is Greg’s first solo show in Minnesota, though he’s a Minneapolis resident. Those in the area who want to see the show should hurry to Soo Visual Arts Center as the show closes this Thursday, November 29th. More pictures after the jump.

Preview: Nicoletta Ceccoli – “Babes in Toyland” @ Copro Gallery

Nicoletta Ceccoli (interviewed) is getting ready to open her show “Babes in Toyland” next month at Copro Gallery.  Judging from the preview, she has prepared another fantastic body of work with her delicate surrealism and visual double entendres.  This is not a show to miss as she is showing with two other great artists, Amy Sol (interviewed) and Stella Im Hultberg (interviewed).  See you all there on opening night (November 7).
