Streets: Dabs Myla (Los Angeles)

With Christmas soon approaching, now would be a good time to tell you about a project from Dabs Myla that opened recently in Los Angeles. With the support of LeBasse Projects, the Australian duo created a series of installations at the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Covering three blocks of the popular shopping & dining thoroughfare with holiday themed imagery, the two artists were able to give visitors perfect photo opportunities to remember this festive season. Finok was recently invited to take part in the fourth edition of Festival Concreto that took place in Fortaleza, Brazil. Working along with 20 international and 20 other artists from all around Brazil, the Sao Paulo-based artist created a simple intervention on one of the local houses. Streets: Peeta (Italy)

Recently in Agropoli, Italy, Peeta completed a mind bending new mural for the a.DNA project that is a prime example of his style. Spanning four walls at the Liceo Statale A.Gatto public school, the piece from the Venice-based artist features lettering from his graffiti background as well as an anamorphic technique that deceives the eye. At the end of September, the people behind POW! WOW! Hawaii held their event celebrating culture, music and art in a new country – South Korea. Streets: Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada – “Connection” (Beirut)

Recently in Beirut, Lebanon, Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada (featured) completed a mural entitled Connection with support from BAD (Built by Associative Data). The wall now (commissioned by Beirut Digital District) features a young boy exploring an electric circuit board, touching on the need for innovation and education in building a better future for the country. Taking a full ten days for the Cuban-American artist to complete, the piece deftly navigates various architectural elements to spread across the structure. Discuss Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada here.

Spanish artist Escif was very active in the last couple of months, travelling around Europe and creating new public works inspired by the local issues and history. Often criticizing aspect of human activity, or choices made by part of population, his pieces balance between conceptual interventions, large illustrations and classic murals.
