Releases: Todd James – “Opening Ceremony x Spring Breakers” Collection

For fans of the American cult director Harmony Korine’s movie Spring Breakers, you may be interested to know that Opening Ceremony has released collection of apparel based on the new film. Openings: Joe Sorren – “The Great Cantaloupe Day” @ AFA (New York)

Starting on April 11th, Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station will be the next location to host KAWS’ 16-feet-tall COMPANION (PASSING THROUGH) sculpture. Upcoming: Ray Caesar @ CHG Circa

On the 13th of April, CHG Circa will be hosting a new solo from digital specialist Ray Caesar (interviewed). The exhibition looks to be the Toronto-based artist’s first major showing in Los Angeles since his special engagement in Beverly Hills last December at Stephen Webster. For those following news from the Sheffield-based Phlegm, you will know that he has been feverishly working on finishing up his new book. Now, fans of the prolific street muralist can help fund this endeavor by purchasing a new print from him – Documenting Everything There Ever Was And Will Be – the eventual cover of the publication. Teaser: Greg Simkins – “Stop Haunting Me” @ Merry Karnowsky Gallery

On April 6th, the Merry Karnowsky in Los Angeles (also see 2012) will be hosting a new solo show from the locally based Greg Simkins (featured). Known as Craola to his legion of fans, the surrealist painter will be unleashing fresh new works collectively entitled Stop Haunting Me, a celebration of the 20th anniversary of his moniker. Openings: Direct Address @ Joshua Liner Gallery

Last week, we attended Joshua Liner’s opening of his new Chelsea gallery with a group exhibition entitled Direct Address. The expansive ground-floor space was filled with a impressive collection of works by The Clayton Brothers, David Ellis,  Evan Hecox, Jean-Pierre Roy, Kris Kuksi (above), Richard Colman, Stephen Powers, SWOON, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Tony Curanaj and others. Brooklyn street duo Faile is releasing a new print today entitled Sweet Sins through a lottery system. The varied edition of 250 measureS 12.5 x 19 inches and have hand-painted touches, are stained, and have backs that are printed, stamped and embossed.
