After a show (covered) and some street activity in London back in June, D*Face (interviewed) found time recently for a project in New York. Tasked with creating a mural that represented Premiere League Football showing on television stateside, he produced this stunner in the ever busy Time Square. Our friends over at Toy Qube have been quietly working on a project that will bring to life a painting by Josh Keyes (interviewed). We finally got the go ahead to share some detailed images with you. Entitled Lifted II, this meticulously sculpted piece is a three dimensional creation based on the painting we recently showed you from his last exhibition at Roq La Rue. Releases: Ai Weiwei TheSK8room Skateboards

Joining an impressive lineup of artists to have collaborated with TheSK8room on limited edition skateboard decks, Ai Weiwei has released three different versions recently. Featuring graphics and quotes form the Chinese contemporary artist, the three designs are limited to a run of 150 each and retail for € 300,00. Seen displayed in the company’s Brussels showroom above, the numbered skateboards (with printed signature) will be sold to partially support a good cause with 20% of all sales going towards Skateistan. On October 18th, the Fecal Face Dot Gallery will be welcoming back (see 2008) Tiffany Bozic for a solo showing in The Mission in San Francisco. La Tour 13 (Paris)

Over looking the Seine, La Tour Paris 13‎ is a project curated by Mehdi Ben Cheikh from Galerie Itinerrance. During a year, the entire building was painted by 100 international street and graffiti artists, each leaving their mark with murals and installations within the 36 apartments over 9 floors and cellars. Opening to the public for a month from October 1st, the building is due to be demolished in November, making it the largest temporary street art exhibition in France. Last week, the MOCA in Los Angeles held a release party for OUTSIDE THE LINES: An Artists’ Coloring Book for Giant Imaginations, a publication curated by Souris Hong-Porretta (seen directly below). Many of the animators, cartoonists, fine artists, graphic artists, illustrators, musicians, outsider artists, photographers, street artists, and video game artists made it out to the event to interact with fans and sign copies. Streets: Kenny Scharf (Los Angeles) – Part II

Last month, we shared with you photos of a mural that Kenny Scharf (interviewed) painted in Los Angeles on the Davis Brothers’ Tire Pros building in Culver City. Recently, the New York street legend revisited the location and blessed the north wall of the structure with more of his signature imagery. As you can see in the photos above of the project (arranged by Branded Arts), he also posed one of the cars in front that he has been painting for his fans bi-coastally in an ongoing project.
