Peter de Sève – “Easy Being Green, It Is Not”

This work entitled Easy Being Green, It Is Not from Peter de Sève recently caught our eye as we were browsing the interwebs. This unlikely but perfect juxtaposition between Kermit and Yoda was painted for the Star Wars, Visions, a collection of Star Wars images created by a wide variety of artists from many genres.  The famed American illustrator has also created many of the covers for the The New Yorker as well as worked on character design on many animated features including the beloved […]

Openings: MS Fundraiser for Tim Strazza @ Joshua Liner Gallery

We all hit bumps in the road, but with a little help we can all overcome any obstacles. As mentioned previously, a good friend of AM and assistant director of Joshua Liner Gallery, Tim Strazza, was unfortunately diagnosed with a Multiple Sclerosis. We helped sponsor a fundraiser created by the gallery to generate funds that went to support Tim and his medical bills. It seemed that almost everyone came out of the woodworks to donate artwork for the charity auction including a heavy rotation of […]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

Since the last AM London Instagram Roundup, quite a bit has being going on. First up, it was great to see Mobstr’s newly painted shutters with the words “Huh?” repeated in black and white to make up one giant “Huh?” Also, the side door to Stolen Space Gallery had a wonderful make over by Word to Mother, very nice. Viewpoints / Openings : Takashi Murakami @ Gagosian Gallery, London

For the last five and a half weeks, Gagosian Gallery on Britannia Street (the larger of its two spaces in London) has been hosting a Takashi Murakami exhibition (previewed). The show features five large-scale sculptures along with a group of paintings merging references to both Japanese contemporary society and the country’s artistic heritage. This recent output includes collaborations with manga, animé, figyua and other artists from Japan’s otaku subculture, which some might describe as a curious world of fantasy, self-indulgence, obsession and disengagement. For the […]

This past weekend, AM stopped by to catch a fresh exhibition at Martha Otero Gallery. As explained in our preview, the curiously titled Oniomania means “to compulsively buy”.
