POW! WOW! ’15 / Openings: Thinkspace – “Exploring The New Contemporary Movement” @ Honolulu Museum Of Art School

Last night, POW! WOW! Hawaii kicked things off with a group show curated by Thinkspace at the Honolulu Museum Of Art School (111 Victoria Street). Entitled Exploring The New Contemporary Movement, the exhibition featured an impressive and diverse roster or artists, each contributing a 12 x 12″ piece. Basel Week Miami ’13: Thinkspace @ SCOPE

For those attending Art Basel Week in Miami, SCOPE is one of the satellite fairs that you should have on your list to visit. A couple Saturdays ago, the Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City hosted the opening for Wild at Heart, a benefit show where some of the proceeds went towards Born Free USA. The group exhibition featured artists and their choice of endangered species to paint or work with leading to some great pieces being created. After bringing you some preview images several days ago for what is shaping up to be a great exhibition opening this weekend, Wild At Heart, we can now reveal one of the more anticipated pieces in the show. Aaron Horkey fans out there, tomorrow will be your next chance to get ahold of one of his works, albeit a limited edition. His Andrew Bird screenprint will be available at Friday, May 18th at “around” 2pm Central Time at Postersandtoys. Aaron Horkey fans out there, check out this new video put together by our friend Patrick Kawahara of a new limited edition dropping tomorrow (December 2nd) at a random time at Mondo. True Grit, produced by Moon Editions, is a laser engraved on Latvian Birch (dyed and laquered), in an edition of 33, 14.75″ x 36″ and will cost $450.

Charity: Benefit Art Auction @ TT-Underground

Last Saturday, TT-Underground Gallery in New York City hosted the opening of the “Benefit Art Auction” to display works of art to be put on on eBay (here), with 100% of the proceeds going to the Japan Red Cross and GlobalGiving to aid those effected by the recent tsunami and earthquake in Japan.
