Preview: Showcase Series: San Francisco Group Exhibiton for LeBasse Projects

You may remember us posting some photos from Melissa Haslam’s studio a while back.  If you recall, the pieces seen were for the LeBasse Projects SF showcase pop-up show (opening tomorrow) including some gallery stalwarts along with Haslam like Yoskay Yamamoto (featured), Edwin Ushiro (interviewed), Andrew Hem (interviewed), Alexandros Vasmoulakis, Nate Frizzell (featured) along with some interesting additions – Herakut (interviewed) and Seonna Hong! Preview: Andrew Hem – “One Leads to Another” @ LeBasse Projects

Andrew Hem (interviewed) is opening an expansive show tonight at LeBasse Projects featuring paintings, drawings, and sculptural work. Entitled “One Leads to Another,” the exhibition was influenced extensively by his recent trip to Cambodia. Through his artwork, Andrew asks what if the millions of people that died during the Khmer Rouge period, especially the children had lived on instead? Openings: Hi-Fructose Group Show – “Overdose” @ Copro Gallery

“Overdose” (previewed) opened this past Saturday at Copro Gallery in Santa Monica. Upon entering the gallery, you will notice several great pieces from “Overdose” on display in the gallery’s front room. The majority of the exhibition’s body of work is displayed in the gallery’s main room. A table was set up over in the smaller wing of the gallery for the Hi-Fructose Collected Edition 1 book signing. Preview: “Overdose” Hi-Fructose Group Show @ Copro Gallery

After their highly successful group show last year, Hi-Fructose is back again with another exhibition, this time titled “Overdose,” opening April 4th at Copro Gallery.  With a increasingly more respected reputation as one of the best publications in the scene, they been able to assemble a pretty amazing lineup.  Sure to be one of the showstoppers is this huge 50 x 50 inch Chris Berens piece seen above.  See some other preview pics as well as the full lineup after the jump.

Preview/Interviews: Andrew Hem @ Roq La Rue

Tomorrow, Andrew Hem’s joint show (teased) with Stella Im Hultberg opens at Roq La Rue gallery in Seattle. His new body of work features imagery from his past experiences including the magnificent cathedrals seen on a trip to Europe as well as the emotions he witnessed in the children he has seen on his travels struggling to fit into a culture in which they are not familiar with.
