Previews: Adrian Cox – “Sensory Garden” @ beinArt Gallery

Following up on his showing with two other artists last year at beinArt Gallery, Adrian Cox will be opening a show on June 3rd. For his first solo in Australia, the St. Louis-based artist has created a new body of work entitled Sensory Garden, oil paintings featuring his signature “Border Creatures,” hybrid creatures that live in the the wilderness of the “Borderlands.” Each character is an amalgamation of the environment around them including flora, fauna, and crystallized mineral deposits. On December 10th, beinArt Gallery will be opening a new three person show entitled Myth and Mutation featuring the work of Adrian Cox, Christopher Ulrich, and Amanda Sage. We are looking forward to Cox’s lush paintings in particular, featuring his grotesque humanoid forms which appear to be created from amalgamations of the natural world and other organic material. Previews: “Force of Nature” @ beinArt Gallery

On October 15th, beinArt Gallery in Brunswick, Australia will be hosting a three person show entitled Force of Nature. The exhibition will feature the oil paintings of Chris Leib’s featuring a strangely pleasing combination of chimpanzees and infantile astronauts, Rachel Bess‘ modern day furies, and Stuart Amos’ hybrids of humans and nature. On September 17th, beinArt Gallery in Brunswick, Australia will be opening their Small Works 2016 group show. As the title of the exhibition suggest, the pieces in the show are meant to be affordable and all measure under 10″ x 10″. On July 23rd, beinArt Gallery in Brunswick will be opening a new four person show entitled Luminosity & Dust. The nice mix of surreal imagery that will be on display includes Casey Weldon’s hyper chromatic & cinematic paintings (seen above), Gerard Greer’s bone assemblages, Peter Gric’s humanoid-mechanical hybrids, and Rodrigo Luff’s lush psychedelic nudes. Previews: Chris Mars, Naoto Hattori & Matt Dangler – “3” @ beinArt Gallery

After a successful inaugural exhibition (covered), beinArt will be presenting a joint show starting April 30th featuring Chris Mars, Naoto Hattori, and Matt Dangler (interviewed). Entitled 3, the exhibition will include the dark narratives of Mars with work influenced by his experiences with his brother’s mental illness, Hattori’s psychedelic creations, and Dangler’s surreal creatures.
