Last week, AM took a walk down memory lane as the annual Crazy 4 Cult opened its doors to the legions of fans of cult movies and art, especially those who wanted one of the prints from Olly Moss (seen above) based off the film Léon: The Professional. Hosted as usual by Gallery 1988, this year’s showing (the sixth one) was its first time in New York and was as popular as always. Check out our photo set below… Discuss this show here.

Openings: “Crazy 4 Cult 5” @ Gallery 1988 (Melrose)

Last night on Melrose, Gallery 1988 put one on for the fanboys and film buffs out there with their fifth annual Crazy 4 Cult show. References to favorite cult movies like the boys from Ghostbusters abounded – some subtle, some not. But all in all, the large crowd in attendance left satisfied for one night until the next get together, one must assume judging from the group, at Comic-Con later this month. Tomorrow night (July 8th) in Melrose, Gallery 1988 will host one of their most popular annual shows – Crazy 4 Cult. For this 5th rendition of the group show where artists are asked to interpret some of their favorite cult movies, there are plenty of regulars as well as new artists to get to know. Love it or hate it, Crazy 4 Cult was probably one of the shows that started the current trend of group shows inspired by the entertainment industry. Time flies! It’s already been a year since the last Crazy 4 Cult show so it’s time again for the fourth installment of this annual theme show at Gallery 1988 (Los Angeles). AM had the pleasure of attending the opening of Crazy 4 Cult 3D show at Gallery 1988 (LA) a couple weeks ago. The 3rd installment of the wildly popular group show again brought together some of our favorite artists to reinterpret some of the most addictive cult films of all time.
