Tomorrow (June 30th), Vitality and Verve III will open to the public (private gala tonight) at the Long Beach Museum of Art, presented in curatorial collaboration with Los Angeles’ Thinkspace Projects and the support of POW! WOW! Long Beach. The third iteration of the group exhibition highlighting artists from the “New Contemporary Art Movement” features an excellent roster including Sergio Garcia and Saber who collaborated on a cool installation featuring Garcia’s sculpture of Saber’s hand in mid spray with the graffiti artist providing his tag. Basel Week Miami ’15 / Streets: Space 52 Project

After a first look last week at the Space 52 Project curated by Tristan Eaton during Basel Week Miami with a new mural from Esao Andrews featuring Bob Dylan, we now have shots of what the rest of the artists did. Each participant painted a musical icon as part of a 240 foot mural in the heart of the Wynwood Arts District including the lead Eaton (Afrika Bambaataa), Askew (Billie Holiday), Stephen Bliss (Debbie Harry), Cyrcle. Recap: artBGC ONE (Manila)

Last week, we shared with you some of the works Nate Frizzell (interviewed) created for the artBGC ONE Festival in the Philippines. We now have a recap of the other murals that were created by international artists like FAILE, Cyrcle., AkaCORLEONE, Kristin Farr, Drew Merritt and Filipino artists Egg Fiasco and Anjo Bolarda for the inaugural event curated by LeBasse Projects, and held in conjunction with the Bonifacio Arts Foundation (BAFI) in Manila. Our minds are still blown by the size of the piece the Cyrcle. boys painted (seen above).
