Basel Week Miami ’16 / Previews: Spoke Art @ SCOPE

Another booth to pay attention to during Basel Week Miami is a group showing from Spoke Art at SCOPE. They plan to bring works like Scott Scheidly’s pink portraits, Joan Cornellà’s black humor infused pieces, Casey Weldon’s vibrant paintings, Abigail Goldman’s morbid sculptures, and Eelus’ dark portraits, along with other contributions. With the end of another week of summer (good weather for outdoor mural painting), it’s time for another Streets World Roundup. Leading things off are these two murals seen above from Shok-1 and Marina Zumi for the Lollapalooza Berlin Festival. Updated: solidARTy.org (II)

We recently got an update from solidARTy.org that they are started another round of charity art auctions on their website. The project launched back in November by auctioning artworks donated by artists, galleries and studios, with 100% of the proceeds going to AreYouSyrious.org organization. So far they have raised over €20,000 for the cause and are now continuing their efforts by offering more original and rare, editioned work by world renowned street, urban and contemporary artists. Hush Curated Decor For Vandal Restaurant (New York)

After working with the TAO Group on their NY downtown location by installing some of his art work in 2013 (covered), British artist Hush (interviewed) was recently asked to curate the decor for a new restaurant located on the Bowery on the Lower East Side called Vandal. A couple weekends ago, Urban Nation continued their ongoing arts program in Berlin with a new show curated by Henrik Haven & Olly Walker entitled CUT IT OUT!. Previews / Benefits: “Home Sweet Home” @ UTBNYC

On the 22nd of November, UTBNYC will be opening their first charity benefit show entitled Home Sweet Home. Openings: “Never Judge” @ StolenSpace Gallery

Never Judge, a group show where a diverse group of artists were invited to reinterpret their favorite book covers, opened recently at the StolenSpace Gallery in London. Classics like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, 1984, War of the Worlds, and Beauty and the Beast had their covers redone by artists like Art Under Pressure, Shepard Fairey, Eelus, and Will Barras. Setup: Eelus & C215 – “Paradise Lost” @ Brooklynite Gallery

It looks like Eelus has arrived in New York and is already started work on Brooklynite’s walls. The UK street artist will be showing jointly with C215 in “Paradise Lost” (teased), both of which are known for their stencil work.
