Upcoming: Fuco Ueda – “Kioku No Hana (Flower Of Memory)” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Expanding on and showing a series last seen during a show in Tokyo last year, the luminous works of Fuco Ueda will be making a rare appearance in the Los Angeles area. On March 29th, the Thinkspace Gallery will be hosting Kioku No Hana or Flower Of Memory from the Japanese painter featuring her young girls positioned in a bizarre world filled with bold electric colors, flora, and fauna – dominated by flowers in this instance. Openings: “The Baxter Collection” @ Roq La Rue

Roq La Rue changed it up for this month’s opening. The works on display are from the personal collection of the Baxter family, who are selling some of their collection to move overseas. We haven’t seen a showing of Fuco Ueda’s work stateside for a while, but those in Japan have a chance to take in a new body of work when her show opens at Lower Akihabara. Her surreal and sometimes disturbing works have long enchanted us at AM, so those who will be in Tokyo on June 15th would be advised to make plans to see her paintings for yourself. AM favorite Fuco Ueda has been off US soil for a while now, but she has still been producing exquisite artwork. Preview: Fuco Ueda @ Court Gallery Kunitachi

Japanese artist, Fuco Ueda has a new show Symbiosis at Court Gallery Kunitachi (Tokyo) with the official opening reception being this Saturday, November 15th.
