While AM has been running around at all the various fairs, we have also been monitoring the street activity, which continues to be strong during this year’s Basel Week Miami. One of the murals that caught our eye was the collaboration between Dabs Myla, Greg “Craola” Simkins, and Witnes in the Wynwood Walls area sponsored by LRG. This past weekend, New York’s Cotton Candy Machine hosted their second annual “tiny” art showcase entitled Tiny Trifecta. On Saturday night, fans of Greg Simkins (Craola) (featured) were treated to a showing of his first major body of work since his exhibition last year in Canada (covered). Presenting a collection of paintings at Merry Karnowsky that were complex, imaginative, and beautifully rendered, the LA-based artist made sure Cloud Theory was well worth the wait. With only 10 days remaining before the opening of Cloud Theory at the Merry Karnowsky, Greg Simkins (featured) is heading down the home stretch on what appears to be a stellar new body of work. Time flies… This year’s Baby Tattooville (see our 2009 and 2010 coverage) is creeping up on us and will go down the weekend of October 7-9.
