Previews: “The New Romantics” @ Corey Helford Gallery

On July 28th, Corey Helford Gallery will be presenting another group show curated by Caro Buermann. Openings: “Something Wicked This Way Comes” @ Cella Gallery

Last weekend, Cella Gallery and curator Stephanie Chefas hosted the opening reception for Something Wicked This Way Comes. The group exhibition featured the works of Annie Owens, Christian Rex van Minnen, Christine Wu, Chrystal Chan, David Ball, Fulvio Di Piazza, Jana Brike, Jessica Ward, Judith Supine, and Michael Page  – produced with the encouragement for them to delve into the more dark and ominous parts of their imagination. Openings: “Blab!” @ Copro Gallery

With new exhibitions rolling in this weekend at Copro Gallery, we thought we would share some last minute photos we took of the Blab! show that has been running for the last month. The seventh annual show which was also a preview of artwork for the upcoming volumes of BLABWORLD No. 2 and 3, featured artwork from artists like Jana Brike, Gary Baseman, Joe Sorren, SHAG, Chet Zar, Sas Christian, and more. Preview: Jana Brike – “The Lost Children” @ Distinction Gallery

UK based artist Jana Brike will be bringing her surrealistic “paintings” stateside for a solo show opening this weekend at the Distinction Gallery. Much like how her special technique blends the digital with more tradional methods, her artistic vision appears to be a strange yet fantastic melding of the human and plant word creating some unforgettable imagery. “The Lost Children” opens on May 8th and for those interested, check out more preview images after the jump…
