Openings: “20 Years Under the Influence of Juxtapoz” @ LAMAG

Last weekend in Los Angeles, alongside Robert Williams’ amazing new exhibition (covered), a group show celebrating 20 years of Juxtapoz also opened to the public. Curated by Andrew Hosner from Thinkspace and Gary Pressman from Copro Gallery, the showing featured artists, emerging and established, who have graced the pages of the trailblazing magazine. Releases: Josh Keyes x Tiny Showcase – “Sleeping Woods” Print

Earlier today, Josh Keyes (interviewed) released a new print through Tiny Showcase continuing their long collaborative history together (2014, 2013, 2012, 2010). Entitled Sleeping Woods, the new edition has an image area of 14″ x 8.4″ and total size of 15″ x 9.5″ including the border. Upcoming: “Unnatural Histories III” @ Antler Gallery

Opening on September 25th, Unnatural Histories III will be will be the third in a series (see 2013) of shows at Antler Gallery featuring portraits of mythical creatures. Along with the piece from Josh Keyes (seen above), works from Vanessa Foley, Michael Page, Craww, Syd Bee, Brin Levinson, Ryan Berkley, Ben Kehoe, Siolo Thompson, Susannah Kelly, Annie Owens, Niel M. Previews: Josh Keyes – “The Hermit” & “Migratory Soul” Figures

After releasing his first sculptural edition last year, Josh Keyes (interviewed) is already working on another two to the delight of his collectors. Based off two of his complimentary paintings The Hermit & Migratory Soul, the two figures are already are in their protoype form. Openings: Josh Keyes & Neil M. Perry – “Entwined” @ Antler Gallery

Last month, the the Antler Gallery in Portland opened a joint exhibition between Josh Keyes (interviewed) and Neil M. Perry entitled Entwined. The showing highlighted how both artists were in tune with nature with their work, focusing on the interplay between species and the surrounding environment, often rendered with surreal elements. Previews: Josh Keyes – “Entwined” @ Antler Gallery

Tomorrow night, April 24th, the Antler Gallery in Portland will be presenting some new work from Josh Keyes (interviewed), in a joint showing with Neil M. Perry entitled Entwined. For his part, Keyes will be continuing the series of work last seen in his online showing (covered) earlier this year in his new style, bringing his imagery all the way to the edge of the painting surface.
