A little while back, we gave you a glimpse of a laser cut brooch that was to be released from Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed).Â Well, it appears that some were sold at her Space Yui show in Japan and one, much to Audrey’s displeasure, has even made its way onto eBay. Audrey Kawasaki’s (interviewed) show “Watching Shadows” or “Kageboushi” opened last night at the Space Yui Gallery in Japan. The exhibition included some of her signature paintings of dreamy-eyed girls, who have a sense of innocence, yet paradoxically possess a touch of sensuality as well. However, it seems that in this body of work, although subtle, her characters are maturing in front of our eyes, perhaps with a hint of what’s to come. With Audrey Kawasaki’s (interviewed) show in Japan fast approaching, we would like to pass on the information about her two newest print releases. The first is an exclusive print for her show at Space Yui entitled “Carry On” (seen above). One of our favorite artists, Audrey Kawasaki’s first solo show in Japan is opening this weekend at Space Yui Gallery in Tokyo. The show entitled “Watching Shadows” or “Kageboushi” will feature about 9 paintings, various sold-out editions, as well as an exclusive print of “Carry On” (more on that layer).
