We all hit bumps in the road, but with a little help we can all overcome any obstacles. As mentioned previously, a good friend of AM and assistant director of Joshua Liner Gallery, Tim Strazza, was unfortunately diagnosed with a Multiple Sclerosis. We helped sponsor a fundraiser created by the gallery to generate funds that went to support Tim and his medical bills. Teaser: David Stoupakis – “Walking Within These Shadows” @ Corey Helford Gallery

Master of the dark arts, David Stoupakis, will be returning to the Corey Helford this Saturday night, August 6th, to open his third solo exhibition there. Entitled Walking Within These Shadows, the new body of work will be more personal in nature drawing from his life experiences and featuring a more somber color palette. On Saturday night, the LA art crowd packed the Merry Karnowsky Gallery to see the work of three artists – Femke Hiemstra, Deedee Cheriel, and of course Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed). Last Friday night in New York, Chet Zar (interviewed) unveiled his latest series of work enititled Faces of Death at the Last Rites Gallery. The nightmarish portraits were quite striking in their custom frames and featured creatures from Chet’s imagination that we wouldn’t want to meet in a dark alley, and for that matter not in the day time either.
