Streets: JR (Rio de Janeiro) – Part I

French artist JR (interviewed) recently completed a new installation in Rio de Janeiro utilizing an intriguing new technique lending the work a more three-dimensional feel. The clever new piece is based on a photo of Mohamed YOUNES IDRISS of Sudan (who didn’t qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics) performing a high jump over the top of building with the assistance of some scaffolding. Damien Hirst Flag Part Of London Olympics Closing Ceremony

With the Olympics coming to an end, all of London celebrated with a star-studded and rousing closing ceremony featuring some of England’s greatest cultural exports. Damien Hirst was asked to design one of the many renditions of the Union Jack in his signature spin-painting looking motif which was unveiled as part of the event.
