Previews: “The Moleskine Project VII” @ Spoke Art (NYC)

On August 4th, Spoke Art’s location in NYC will be hosting The Moleskine Project VII, the seventh iteration of the group show curated by artist Rodrigo Luff and gallery owner Ken Harman. The concept behind the show once again is to create a piece of art on the pages of the ubiquitous moleskin notebook used by many artists for sketches, to record ideas, and for studies. Openings: “Flourish” @ Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum

Over the weekend, the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum in Arizona hosted the opening of Flourish, a group show curated by Thinkspace Gallery. Over 100 artists contributed to the exhibition but the standouts for us were the murals from Esao Andrews and Nosego as well as a sweet hanging installation from Felipe Pantone. Upcoming: “Luminosity & Dust” @ beinArt Gallery

On July 23rd, beinArt Gallery in Brunswick will be opening a new four person show entitled Luminosity & Dust. The nice mix of surreal imagery that will be on display includes Casey Weldon’s hyper chromatic & cinematic paintings (seen above), Gerard Greer’s bone assemblages, Peter Gric’s humanoid-mechanical hybrids, and Rodrigo Luff’s lush psychedelic nudes. Last night, POW! WOW! Hawaii kicked things off with a group show curated by Thinkspace at the Honolulu Museum Of Art School (111 Victoria Street).
