Last night, AM headed out to Culver City for the lone show on our schedule at LeBasse Projects. It was certainly worth the trip as we were greeted by work from a nice selection of artists in the Outside/In group show including Case, Herakut, Alexandros Vasmoulakis, SharkToof and Bumblebee. As a bonus, most of the participants were on hand before they head out to New Hampshire for the second part of the show at the Portsmouth Museum of Art. More opening pics after the jump…

LA Art Show: Murals from Andrew Hem, Chor Boogie, and Shark Toof

For several days while the Los Angeles Art Show was in town, Andrew Hem’s (interviewed), Chor Boogie, and Shark Toof were hard at work working on some large mural pieces. Interested attendees were treated to some extended live painting as each artist worked on some signature imagery for their enjoyment. Mr. Shark Toof and Chor Boogie have been especially busy as they also did work for the Patron After Party if your remember (covered). More photos courtesy of Brandon Shigeta after the jump…

To celebrate the kick-off of the L.A. Art Show and showcase the artwork of Shepard Fairey, Mear One, Shark Toof, and Chor Boogie, The Ritz-Carlton Residences at L.A. Live (in collaboration with LA ART MACHINE) hosted the Patron After Party in a two-story penthouse on the 51st floor of their exclusive and luxurious building. Tomorrow, January 19th, marks the opening of the annual Los Angeles Art Show. On occasion of his inclusion in Spoke Art’s Urban Osmosis exhibition (which we previewed last week), the Los Angeles-based Shark Toof made the much-traveled trek north to the Bay Area. Last night at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Sanrio opened the doors to a tremendous 50th Anniversary celebration featuring carnival games, costumed characters, special food booths, limited edition event products from the company, and of course – a themed art group show (curated by JAPAN LA).
