Tonight (May 18th) at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery, Souther Salazar will be presenting his fourth solo with the gallery entitled Souvenirs. The show, entitled You Come Too, featured paintings of fantastical worlds, inventive mixed media assemblages, and rich installations centered around ideas of inclusion, sharing adventure, and togetherness which in no small part were inspired by his recent life experiences. Last weekend, Subliminal Projects played host to “Pattern Recognition”, a group exhibition from a great set of artists including Seonna Hong, Nikki McClure, Dalek (interviewed), Richard Colman (interviewed), and Souther Salazar. Particularly eye catching for us were the colorful works of Seonna and Souther although the works of Dalek and Colman seemed to fit the premise of the show a little more closely.
