While in Miami, we of course stopped by the Wynwood Walls complex to see what new updates they had to their program this year. One of the highest profile street art related projects for Basel Week Miami added new murals this year from Audrey Kawasaki (offsite – previously covered), AVAF, Beau Stanton, Case, Dasic Fernandez, David Choe (seen above), Faith47, Felipe Pantone, Findac, Okuda, Pixel Pancho (seen above), Risk, and Tatiana Suarez. Every year during Basel Week Miami, AM always spends some time in the Wynwood district checking out the activity as street and graffiti artists put in the time to beautify the area. For 2014, the predominant facilitators in the area, Wynwood Walls, decided to focus on The Art of Collaboration. One of the standouts was this joint effort painting four sides of a building by Los Angeles-based artists and coworkers Shepard Fairey (featured) and Cleon Peterson. Take a look at how their imagery melded perfectly together in […]

After the pulling the cover off of a controversial collaborative mural with fellow graffiti artist Risk a couple weeks back, Retna (featured) bounced down to Miami last week to get a leg up on his fellow artists for this year’s Wynwood Walls. Originally conceived of by Jeffrey Deitch as a clever way to revitalize the debilitated Wynwood Arts District during Art Basel Miami, the annual outdoor art gathering has blossomed into an all out assault by graffiti legends, street artists, and contemporary art figures alike […]
