Some of you may not know (including us), but painter Tim Biskup (featured) is part of a band Big Butter that he formed with his brother Mike Biskup back in the 80s. One of their favorite and most obscure recordings, BRAINSLED, was released as a cassette in 1989, but was never released on vinyl. They aim to rectify this and have gone to Kickstarter to fund this endeavor. Watch the informative video below and if interested, head over to support their project as there is some awesome […]
Last week, artists Hense, Push, Tilt (above), Sever, and Born came together to paint some new walls for the Elevate South Broad Mural Project in Atlanta. Located at South Broad Street between MLK Boulevard and Mitchell Street, the new work beautifies an area that sorely needed some love. Hopefully, we’ll continue to see more of these projects in the future. Discuss Tilt here. Discuss Push here. Photo Credit: Nick Mickolas / Graffuturism.
One last image for you on All Hallows’ Eve before you head out for your festivities. Patch was a piece Dan May (interviewed) did earlier this month, which was also released as a print. And like this painting, AM hopes that your night includes pumpkins, costumes, and other creepy creatures.
In the spirit of Halloween, millions of people will be dressing up as their favorite characters this week. But for many fans attending Comic-Con around the globe, dressing up isn’t just a once a year occasion. Many get into “full” costume when attending their favorite fairs. In the past, we’ve brought you a look at the unique & crazy “get-ups” from the San Diego Comic-Con. This year AM attended the New York Comic-Con and saw some hardcore costumes. Thousands of costumes that represented multiple facets […]
Readers out there planning to get your costumes on for Halloween, AM would like to wish you a safe and productive evening. Remember, we always love to see art-related getups and we are sure other art fans out there will appreciate them as well. Photo va Kristy Solomon.

Take a look at more photos below as well as learning more about the inspirations behind this piece here. Discuss Camille Rose Garcia here.
Last week, AM attended GILF!’s (featured) solo exhibition at SOHO’s Galerie Swanström. The witty Brooklyn-based artist showcased a new series of urban artworks that dealt directly at the challenges facing contemporary societies and politics. Not pulling punches, GILF confronted issues such as healthcare, birth control, politicians and environmental concerns. Her stencils and comments were a hit with all that were in attendance. Check out a detailed look below….
This week at London’s Signal Gallery, Dale Grimshaw unveils his latest collection of oil paintings in his solo exhibition, Moreish. Dale’s work is often deeply personal and as other showings of his work, the exhibition deals with human condition – this time in the form of greed and excess. The theme of the show seems to sit comfortably with Grimshaw’s work as his lavishly rendered paintings exude a baroque opulence. Take a look at the video below to accompany the shots from his studio to […]

Remember the mural we mentioned in our Overtime article a couple weeks ago that RETNA (featured) painted for Louis Vuitton? Footage has now been released of the MSK-affiliated writer working on facade of the LV Miami Design District store, covering it with his signature urban calligraphy. Even more interesting have been the rumors that RETNA will be collaborating with the fashion house on some apparel after LV imagery was seen in some of his paintings and he was seen sporting a scarf with his markings on […]
