It’s has been a long road leading up to this day for the FAILE camp, with Friday’s opening of Les Ballets De Faile. As we mentioned previously this week, the New York City Ballet came out swinging when they chose the the two to lead their first ever artist collaboration. Over the last 6 months, the Patricks and their band of loyal soldiers have created literally thousands of individually stacked ‘wooden block’ piece of artwork, inspired by both their own iconic imagery as well as the archives of the New York City Ballet, which was founded in 1948.
This incredible merger of the provocative and performance seems to have evolved into something few could have anticipated (even from this power house Brooklyn-based street art duo). The end result is what has become known as The Tower of FAILE. This monolithic piece stands a whopping 16 square feet wide by 40 feet tall. Needless to say, we are eagerly awaiting the tomorrow night’s sold out performance at Lincoln Center in New York City.
