Last month, the Breeze Block Gallery in Portland hosted a two person show from Erin Murray & Tristram Lansdowne (interviewed) entitled Order of Operations. Although the two artists’ imagery are worlds apart, a common theme of appreciation for architectural forms runs throughout their work – Lansdowne with his unnatural blending of natural landscapes and structures (although not as evident in this body of work) and Murray with her intriguing renderings on shaped canvases.
