After showing at Lisbon’s Electricity Museum / EDP Foundation (covered) and in Paris (covered) over the last year, multidisciplinary Portuguese artist Alexandre Farto aka Vhils returned to London for a new solo entitled Dissonance at Lazarides Rathbone. Running until April 23rd, the exhibition reflects on how various factors in the contemporary urbanized world shapes its inhabitants, while personal identities are vanishing under the visual noise and surrounding clutter. Reflecting this, the subjects being portrayed in the pieces disappear through multiple layering of billboards and stratification on metal and wood. Check out images from the opening below.
