Last week, fans of Revok witnessed the opening of his first solo show in LA at a popup space hosted by the Library Street Collective. Entitled simply and appropriately Los Angeles, the new body of work marked a homecoming for the local graffiti legend and consisted of a series of assemblage works which proved to be created with a further refinement in his technique and vision. Hand cutting wood pieces and putting together complex geometric shapes, the composition is then painted over in patterns that draw their influences from op-art, traditional folk pattern, and optical illusion elements. The work will be on view at 1242 Palmetto Street, downtown Los Angeles daily from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. through April 19th.
