Nike recently released their collaboration with Romon Kimin Yang (Rostarr) featuring his calligraphy-inspired imagery on a selection of running footwear and apparel. While working with the company on the design of the collection, the New York-based artist was inspired by run crew culture and marathons leading him to embed abstract runners into his pattern of brushstrokes. He further explains – “This project is about isolating the energy that happens when you run with a big group of people. I tried to capture the rhythm and feeling of movement created when people run a race–that surge of energy.” Take a look at some examples of what is available in the photos below…
