Amidst all of the street art during this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii, one of the more unique elements of the event that could be observed were the portrait sessions with James Jean (interviewed). Featuring a diverse selection of subjects, the six chosen ones sat for a few hours with the gifted artist as he masterfully captured their visages in a series of loose yet detailed paintings. At the conclusion of the live session, the lucky subject was gifted the portrait – something they will treasure in their collections forever.
