Last weekend, north San Diego saw the opening of YESNIK’s latest solo show at the LUX Art Institute in Encinitas. On view through the end of March, the museum exhibition features paintings, sculpture, and murals where the locally-based artist reimagines the textures, colors, and shapes of the natural world into abstract totemic compositions. The work is a continuation of his recent direction where he explores “societal fragmentation through the invention of figures made of vibrant colors and flat shapes, taking on dimensionality as they teeter in a delicate balance.”
