Currently showing through the end of March at Over The Influence’s space in Los Angeles, Sunny Days is Mike Lee’s debut solo with the gallery. Working through various stages of his upbringing through a series of rooms, his paintings and sculptures featuring his signature minimalistic and monochromatic renditions of human forms are meant to confront specific memories. Fleshing out some of his compositions typically only focused on the locally-based artist’s bulbous characters with some background elements brings more depth and richness to this new body of work, an ode to the good (and bad) times spent growing up in Southern California.
