Openings: Edwin Ushiro – “Softly Encompassing the Womb” @ LeBasse Projects

Something about LeBasse Projects’ new space brings out the best in its stable of artists. With Tessar Lo and Yoskay Yamamoto’s (interviewed) taking it up another level (here & here), Edwin Ushiro could not help but elevate his game for his solo that opened last weekend, “Softly Encompassing the Womb.”  With a body of work inspired by childhood ghost stories he heard growing up in Hawaii, Ushiro impressed the crowd with the meaningful and personal work as well as dazzled eyes with his new vibrant colors.
