Following a poster campaign which focused on the subject of lost superheroes, Australia-born artist Anthony Lister (interviewed) has arrived in Los Angeles for a unique gallery exhibition which will take place this coming Friday at the HVW8 gallery. However, days before the exhibit, Lister went out on the streets and left his mark on the city with a large scale painting which combines his attraction to both graffiti culture and expressionism. Featuring a large and somewhat deformed face, the wall resembles his recent collaboration with Kid Zoom and Meggs as well as his showcase at Berlin’s ProjectRoom.

Check out the pictures after the jump for a closer look at Lister’s process and the finished product.
