Last weekend, the Venice location for Gallery 1988 presented a whole new body work from Dan McCarthy (interviewed). Dear Science is the New England-based artist’s third solo with the gallery (see 2010 and 2011) and featured a series of originals as well as limited edition offerings. Known for his vibrant renderings of different times of day including dawn and dusk where the color and lighting can be quite stunning, McCarthy’s work documenting the great outdoors brings on a feeling of quite reflection when viewing the paintings. The show runs through the 28th.
