After recently seeing some of Barry McGee’s work during Basel Week Miami (here & here), it reminded us to get an update together on some things that we have come across recently from Mr. Twist. First up are a couple of recently released insightful videos that we enjoyed watching – one regarding his epic mural at Brooklyn’s Mark Morris Dance Group building (covered here & here) and the other regarding a commission he created for the Oakland Museum of California.
Even more exciting is word of McGee’s next museum showing scheduled to open in March at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The Texas institution is fast becoming the go-to place for great art in the state with this gem of an upcoming exhibition to follow up their showing with KAWS a year ago (covered).
