It’s a brand new year and the Patrick’s (aka FAILE) are leading things off with a special project that’s been under wraps for quite a while. Earlier in the year when we visited Faile’s studio while they were working on their trip to Mongolia, we were excited to learn about an upcoming collaborative endeavor with the New York City Ballet, but we were asked to keep this project air tight. The time has come now to share with you information about the large-scale exhibition at the Lincoln Center that will feature the many facets of the duo’s work including Faile boxes, sculptures, paintings, collages and even street visuals.
The new art series lauched by the NYCB will feature commissions from contemporary artists of original works of art inspired by their spectacular dancers, energetic choreography, and one of a kind repertory of performances. Having already worked with the likes of Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Julian Schnabel in the company’s history, Les Ballets de Faile will now join the rich history of the New York institution.
As you can see in the teaser video, there will be two special performances (Feb 1st & May 29th) where art fans will be able to get ANY SEAT at the Lincoln Center for only $29 dollars where everyone in attendance will be receiving a unique piece of original Faile artwork to take home. Tickets go onsale for friends of Faile & AM right now until Sunday (11:59pm) HERE with this exclusive passcode: FAILE86. So, book your night of enjoying both the art of ballet and the art of Faile.
