Vhils is one of the most innovative artists coming out of Portugal in recent years. So in some regards, it’s not entirely surprising to find him working with cork, which is one of the most exported and environmentally friendly natural materials of the region. His latest work entitled Contraste, created for Portugal Telecom’s data center in Covilhã, highlights not only man’s relationship with the world his ability to create materials that are not only economically prosperous but also sustainable for future generations.
