Coming out this Friday, August 15 is Banksy in New York – the ultimate companion to Banksy’s New York residency (covered). The book, by graffiti and street art writer and photographer Ray Mock, provides a first-hand account of the British street artist’s American residency, from reactions from locals and building owners to the controversial defacement and removal of his pieces to interactions between Banksy’s fans and detractors. Through Mock’s unique extensive knowledge of the movement and his local perspective, the impact of Banksy’s time in the city is able to be contextualized and personally related.
Featuring over 120 photos and illustrations covered over 120 pages, the book will be available in a limited edition screenprinted cover starting August 15 for $35. It will be available at: carnagenyc.com.
